WhatsApp Mobile Access

Control SonetHub from your phone via WhatsApp — post content, check analytics, manage your inbox, and more.

Overview

WhatsApp mobile access lets you manage your social media from your phone by messaging SonetHub's WhatsApp number. Send commands in plain text and receive responses — no app download required.

Available on Pro and Business plans.

Setup

  1. Go to Settings > WhatsApp
  2. Enter your phone number in E.164 format (e.g., +34612345678)
  3. Click Send Code — you'll receive a 6-digit verification code on WhatsApp
  4. Enter the code and click Verify

Once verified, you can start sending commands immediately.

Managing Multiple Workspaces

If you have access to multiple workspaces (brands), SonetHub routes your WhatsApp messages to one workspace at a time. On your first message, it selects your default workspace automatically.

To switch workspaces, just say:

  • "Switch to My Other Brand"
  • "List my workspaces"
  • "Which workspace am I using?"

The switch persists — all future messages go to the new workspace until you switch again. You can also set the default workspace in Settings > WhatsApp.

What You Can Do

WhatsApp gives you access to the same AI assistant available in the web app. Here are some examples:

  • Create and publish posts — "Post 'Excited to announce our new feature!' to LinkedIn and Twitter"
  • Schedule content — "Schedule a post about our summer sale for tomorrow at 9 AM on Instagram"
  • Check analytics — "How did my posts perform last week?"
  • Manage inbox — "Show me my important DMs"
  • Reply to messages — "Reply to the latest Instagram DM saying we'll follow up Monday"
  • Check usage — "How many AI messages do I have left this month?"
  • Search the web — "What are trending topics in AI marketing?"

Media Support

You can send media files along with your message:

  • Images — Send a photo with a caption like "Post this to Instagram with a catchy description". The AI can analyze images and use them in your posts.
  • Videos — Send a video to publish as a Reel, TikTok, or YouTube Short.
  • Documents — Send PDFs, CSVs, or other documents for the AI to process (e.g., import a CSV of posts, review a document).

The AI can also send media back to you — images, videos, and audio previews (like TikTok trending sounds) are delivered as WhatsApp media messages.

Notifications

Optionally receive proactive WhatsApp notifications for:

  • Post published/failed — Know immediately when scheduled posts go out or encounter errors
  • Post needs review — When an automation creates a post that requires your approval
  • Important DMs — Summary of important direct messages across your accounts

Notifications are off by default. Enable them in Settings > WhatsApp > WhatsApp Notifications.

Conversation Memory

Your WhatsApp conversation is persistent — the assistant remembers previous messages and context, just like the web chat. You can say "make it shorter" or "publish that" referring to previous messages. For long conversations, older messages are automatically summarized to maintain context without hitting token limits.

Limitations

  • Text responses only — The assistant responds in plain text (no markdown formatting, no clickable buttons).
  • Rate limit — 30 commands per hour per user.
  • No verification via chat — Phone verification must be done through the Settings UI.

Managing Your Connection

  • Pause/Resume — Temporarily disable WhatsApp access without losing your verified number. Go to Settings > WhatsApp and click "Pause."
  • Disconnect — Permanently remove your WhatsApp connection. You'll need to re-verify to use it again.
  • Via AI assistant — Ask the web assistant "check my WhatsApp status" or "disable WhatsApp."
